Zack Estrin, the revered writer-producer and showrunner identified for his work on Fox’s “Jail Break” and Netflix’s current revival of “Misplaced in Area,” died Sept. 23 in Hermosa Seaside, Calif. He was 51.
Estrin’s dying was confirmed Sunday by his longtime expertise company, WME. Estrin was remembered by family and friends as a flexible author and producer who was a beneficiant mentor to others.

Born in California, Estrin was raised in Brooklyn.
