Manchester City beat Norwich City 4-0
Manchester City defeated Norwich City 4-0 at Carrow Road on Tuesday. The hosts made it 15 Premier League matches without a loss and stretched their lead at the top of the table to 12 points. Pep Guardiola’s side’s eighth victory in the competition since October.
Norwich looked good in the first half and drew a penalty when Max Aarons scuffed a clearance. But it was Manchester City who took the lead after Raheem Sterling curled home a beautiful goal. He then completed his hat trick.
The visitors started well, but City dominated the second half. The hosts had only a couple of chances. Grant Hanley headed wide, while Bernardo Silva went close with a shot.
Despite the lopsided scoreline, Norwich remained in the bottom three. They are just a point behind Newcastle, who have played a game more, while Liverpool has two games in hand.
Everton beat Leeds United 3-0
Everton has moved five points clear of the relegation zone thanks to a 3-0 victory over Leeds United at Goodison Park. The result marked the first time Frank Lampard has won a Premier League game since taking over at Everton.
Everton started the game with a 3-4-3 formation. Alex Iwobi played on the right side of the midfield. His responsibilities were to track dangerous areas of the field, harass Leeds players, and create opportunities for teammates. He showed a new level of work rate and end product and a desire to help the team.
Everton dominated the first half, creating four chances from their 21 shots. In the 74th minute, Pickford saved a shot from Gelhardt.
Leeds did have a couple of chances to score, with Rodrigo almost putting the game to bed early on. However, a header went off the bar, and Pickford cleared his volley. But Everton eventually got the goal they needed to seal the win.
Bournemouth beat Leicester 2-1
Bournemouth came from a 1-0 half-time deficit to beat Leicester 2-1 in a dramatic game at the Vitality Stadium. It was the first time Bournemouth won a home Premier League match since opening day. The win moves them to eighth place on 12 points, two behind Manchester United.
After ten minutes, Leicester had taken the lead thanks to Patson Daka’s goal. But it was soon over. Having lost all five away games this season, the Foxes were in relegation trouble.
After the break, the Cherries were in charge of the game. They came out in the second half and dominated possession. Their final ball was better. However, they struggled to break down Leicester’s press.
Patson Daka’s opener had put Leicester ahead, but Bournemouth leveled just before the half-hour mark. Then, in the final minute of the first half, Jonny Evans and Ryan Fredericks were bundled to the ground by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Tottenham Hotspur should win the EPL.
There is a good chance that Tottenham Hotspur should win the English Premier League this season. It would be the club’s first league championship in over 60 years, and it would also boost the spirits of their fans.
The side has gone into the international break in fourth place in the league. Their main aim for the season is to be in the top four. They have a great defense, a world-class goalkeeper, and a well-balanced midfield.
Spurs have had an excellent transfer window, bringing in several players who could make a difference in the coming months. This includes Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier, and Christian Eriksen. Chelsea beat AC Milan to win the Champions League.
Chelsea beat AC Milan 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night to win the UEFA Champions League. The victory saw Chelsea climb to the top of Group E. It was also the first time the club had won on Italian soil since 2003.
Chelsea had an excellent first half, with Wesley Fofana scoring in the 24th minute. But a controversial sending-off for Fikayo Tomori in the 18th changed the game.
Milan had a good spell in the second half, but Chelsea maintained the pressure. James scored a second goal after 56 minutes. He lifted a fierce shot into the roof of the net from a narrow-angle.
The win means Chelsea now has seven points from four matches. They are level on goal difference with Red Bull Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb. And with two games left in the group, they can qualify for the knockout stages.
