Mumbai Airport Customs’ Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) has not too long ago seized $4,97,000 on the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Worldwide Airport.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Worldwide Airport (CSMIA) Customs officers on Wednesday seized overseas forex (value roughly Rs 4.1 crore) and arrested three members of a household, revealed the Customs division.
Information company ANI, in a tweet, shared a video which exhibits that the overseas forex was hidden contained in the interior sole of the seemingly Nike-branded footwear together with additional cash hidden in between the folded garments.
As per the Customs division, “a household of three Indian passengers departing to Dubai by way of Fly Dubai flight FZ 446 was intercepted in a focused operation carried out through the early morning hours on 2 Nov 2022.”
After interception and examination of luggage from the passengers, they recovered $4,97,000 equal to roughly 4.1 crore in Indian Rupees, Customs officers mentioned.
All three had been apprehended and brought to an area courtroom which remanded them to judicial custody. The names of the passengers haven’t been disclosed because the investigation is on, mentioned officers.
