TUNIS (Reuters) – Hundreds of supporters of two rival Tunisian opposition teams held parallel protests towards President Kais Saied on Saturday, denouncing his strikes to consolidate his political energy as public anger grows over gas and meals shortages.
The Islamist Ennahda get together and the Free Constitutional Celebration have been bitter foes for years and although they continue to be opposed to one another, each are actually most centered on combating the president, whom they accuse of an anti-democratic coup.
