The Centre on Wednesday deputed a high-level multi-disciplinary group to Mumbai to evaluate the state of affairs and handle the measles outbreak within the metropolis.
The group will help the state well being authorities in instituting public well being measures and facilitate the operationalisation of requisite management and containment measures.
The three-member central group to Mumbai contains specialists drawn from the Nationwide Centre for Illness Management (NCDC), New Delhi; Girl Hardinge Medical School (LHMC), New Delhi; and Regional Workplace for Well being and Household Welfare, Pune, Maharashtra.
The group is headed by Dr Anubhav Srivastava, Deputy Director, Built-in Illness Surveillance Programme (IDSP), NCDC.
The group will even undertake area visits to research the outbreak and help the State Well being Departments by way of public well being measures, administration tips and protocols to handle the rising circumstances of Measles being reported in Mumbai, the Union Well being Ministry stated.
