HP Omen 15 Laptop Review

The Omen 15 is an excellent desktop for anyone looking for a powerful yet affordable machine. It is available in four models, ranging from a budget-friendly omen 7 to a premium-priced omen 15. In addition, it can be purchased with various features, from AMD Ryzen processors to a 144Hz anti-glare screen. Its battery life is also good, with the option to recharge via USB.

AMD Ryzen 4000-series processors

AMD Ryzen 4000-series processors are designed to deliver more power per watt. They are available at different prices and can be used in laptops, from gaming to commercial machines. The processors offer great value for money and are ideal for everyday tasks.

The 15.6-inch FHD screen boasts a 72% NTSC color gamut, making it perfect for high-end games like Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends. In addition, the screen is rated at a mind-blowing 311 nits of brightness and is aided by an LED backlight system. A 40-pin connector accompanies the display on the right side of the chassis.

Cooling system

It’s no secret that HP is sprucing up its gaming laptop line. Their latest offerings include the Omen 15 and the Omen 45L. Both feature overclockable NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics cards, 1TB SSD storage, and a 165Hz refresh rate. They also boast several fan hubs, including an 800-watt power supply and seven 120mm fans. In addition, they tout the new gen Intel i7 processor, a solid set of component choices, and an optional tempered glass window panel. The company is also bringing a new brand to the table: Victus. It’s also the brand’s first desktop, a full-size tower PC that’s as configurable as it is enticing.

Battery life

The HP Omen 15 is a decent-budget gaming laptop. It has plenty of CPU grunt and graphics power for 1080p gaming. But it has a few areas where it falls short.

First, the Omen is heavier than most gaming machines. It weighs nearly five pounds. It is also about 30mm thick, and its base is very sturdily built.

The Omen’s battery life is good, though not stellar. It lasts about three hours during a standard battery benchmark test and a little less than two hours when playing a game.

Its CPU temperatures are very high. Its CPU was 88degC during our stress tests, compared to 81degC for its rivals. Its graphics cores were 82degC. And it got as hot as 88degC during our full-screen HD video test.

The Omen’s keyboard is soft and comfortable, but it’s not the best. The keys move less than expected. It’s also challenging to clean. It gets oily quickly.
