Students must attend school daily (whether on-site or virtual), absent legal exemption. Every absence or tardy deprives them of critical learning experiences essential for academic and social development. An excessive rate of absenteeism and tardiness places the student at risk of dropping out altogether.
Parents/guardians must notify schools about planned absences or late arrivals for their child(ren). Call or email the attendance office with details on why a student will miss an hour of instruction without providing documentation such as a doctor’s note or court statement from home. Unfortunately, students who miss work due to unexcused absences cannot make up any missed assignments later on.
Early dismissals should be submitted to the Attendance Office on the morning of their intended departure date and will be verified with both parent/guardian. If another individual will pick up your child early from school, an official written request must be provided, which provides all emergency contacts and phone numbers of that individual.
Teachers do not take class time to discuss individual student matters with parents/guardians visiting the classroom, all visitors are expected to adhere to school property conduct rules, and all unauthorized visitors will be reported immediately to the Principal for removal from premises.
Students suspended from school (in/out suspensions) must not participate in any school-related activities, including athletic practices and events, until their suspension ends. The Superintendent or designee will determine the length of an in/out suspension and may refer them for further evaluation by counselors, social workers, or school specialists.
