Electoral bonds on sale from at present: Checklist of 29 authorised SBI branches that’ll encash

The federal government has authorised the problem and encashment of electoral bonds via 29 authorised branches of State Financial institution of India, beginning at present until December 12. 

The official notification by the Ministry of Finance acknowledged that the electoral bonds can be legitimate for 15 days from the date of challenge, and no fee can be made to any payee political social gathering if the electoral bond is deposited after the expiry date. 

The electoral bond deposited by the eligible political social gathering can be credited on the identical day, it stated. 

The federal government notified the Electoral Bond Scheme 2018 on January 2, 2018. As per the provisions, electoral bonds could also be bought by an individual who’s a citizen of India or included or established in India. A person should purchase electoral bonds both singly or collectively with different people. 

Solely political events registered below Part 29A of the Illustration of the Individuals Act, 1951, that has secured not lower than 1 per cent of the votes within the final common election to the Home of Individuals or the Legislative Meeting of the state can be eligible to obtain electoral bonds. 

The electoral bonds could be encashed by an eligible political social gathering solely via a checking account with the authorised financial institution.  

The electoral bonds could be encashed within the following SBI branches:

  • Delhi – Parliament Avenue department
  • Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh – Chandigarh principal department
  • Himachal Pradesh – Shimla principal department
  • Jammu and Kashmir – Badami Bagh department, Srinagar
  • Uttarakhand – Dehradun principal department
  • Gujarat, Dadar & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu – Gandhinagar department
  • Madhya Pradesh – Bhopal principal department
  • Chhattisgarh – Raipur principal department
  • Rajasthan – Jaipur principal department
  • Maharashtra – Mumbai principal department
  • Goa, Lakshadweep – Panaji principal department
  • Uttar Pradesh – Lucknow principal department
  • Odisha – Bhubaneswar principal department
  • West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar – Kolkata principal department
  • Bihar – Patna principal department
  • Jharkhand – Ranchi principal department
  • Sikkim – Gangtok department
  • Arunachal Pradesh – Itanagar department
  • Nagaland – Kohima department
  • Assam – Guwahati department
  • Manipur – Imphal department
  • Meghalaya – Shillong department
  • Mizoram – Aizawl department
  • Tripura – Agartala department
  • Andhra Pradesh – Visakhapatnam department
  • Telangana – Hyderabad principal department
  • Tamil Nadu and Puducherry – Chennai principal department
