Catherine Hardwicke will obtain a Visionary Award on the Santa Fe Worldwide Movie Pageant (SSFiFF), a press launch introduced. The “Twilight” director can be set to guide an actors workshop on the Santa Fe Playhouse. She’ll settle for her honor at a ceremony October 23. For the workshop, held October 22, she’ll pen scripts impressed by the art work of three native painters that will likely be acted out by native performers. Collaborating actors will likely be directed by Hardwicke herself.
Hardwicke’s newest title, “The Prisoner’s Daughter,” premiered at Toronto Worldwide Movie Pageant final month. The drama tells the story of a dying convict who’s launched on compassionate grounds and makes an attempt to reconnect together with his daughter and her son.
Launched in 2008, “Twilight” stays one of many highest-grossing movies ever directed by a girl. The variation of Stephanie Meyer’s vampire story took in over $407 million worldwide. Hardwicke received a 2003 Director’s Award on the Sundance Movie Pageant and an Impartial Spirit Award for her directorial debut, Evan Rachel Wooden-starrer “13,” a coming-of-age story a few teenage woman’s foray into the world of medication, intercourse, and petty crime. “Lords of Dogtown” and “Miss You Already” are amongst her different credit.
Hardwicke seems in “Brainwashed: Intercourse-Digicam-Energy,” Nina Menkes’ exploration of how girls are objectified in cinema. The doc opens October 21.
