Slamdance introduced the winners of its 2022 screenplay competitors, with the grand prize going to author Gabriel Malasig for his screenplay titled “American Retail.” The screenplay follows a Black lady as she struggles to complement her music profession by a dead-end retail job at a superstore.
Extra prizes have been awarded throughout a dwell ceremony that befell on the Nuart Theatre and co-presented by the Writers Guild of America West and Landmark Theatres on Sunday.
