LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Grammy-winning musician Roberta Flack, whose hits embody “Killing Me Softly with His Music,” has been recognized with ALS, also called Lou Gehrig’s illness, and might not sing, her representatives stated on Monday.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a progressive illness, “has made it unimaginable to sing and never simple to talk,” a press release from her publicists stated. “However it’s going to take much more than ALS to silence this icon.”
