IDA Documentary Award Noms: “Hearth of Love,” “All of the Magnificence and the Bloodshed,” & Extra

Sara Dosa’s “Hearth of Love” and Laura Poitras’ “All of the Magnificence and the Bloodshed” are exhibiting no indicators of slowing down as awards season heats up. Scorching on the heels of Cinema Eye Honors nominations, they’ve scored IDA Documentary Award noms. Each titles are up for the ceremony’s high honor, Greatest Characteristic Documentary. Of ten movies up for the award, 5 are helmed or co-helmed by girls.

“Hearth of Love” charts the epic love story of volcanologists Katia and Maurice Krafft, whereas “All of the Magnificence and the Bloodshed” pays tribute to photographer Nan Goldin’s artwork and activism.
